About the Literature Kiosk

See also the main page about Digital study literature (The Literature Kiosk)
The Literature Kiosk is the University of Bergen's website where students can buy digitised study literature (articles and book excerpts). Course materials have been authorised for this use in accordance with the Kopinor Agreement.

Requesting digitised literature for the Literature Kiosk is done through Leganto (KI 2550).

To use the Literature kiosk you need an active UiB user account.

Following terms apply for students:
  • The semester fee for the current semester must be paid in full
  • The student must have a valid student admission to a course or programme

Course material in the Literature Kiosk is available for purchase and download until January the 30th for the Fall semester, and until August the 30th for the Spring semester (note that the files must be downloaded before the end of the semester!). This is dictated by UiB's agreement with Kopinor. Students can access and purchase the literature only for courses in which they are registered. Purchases are personal and distributing and sharing files with others is not permitted.

Currently students pay 0.89 kr per page. Faculty can access the course files for free.

Responsibility
The Literature Kiosk is maintained and developed through collaboration between the Division of Student and Academic Affairs (Studieavdeling – SA) and the University Library (UB). UB is responsible for the rights clearance and digitisation of the cleared material. SA manages the Literature Kiosk and is responsible for technical support (including questions about logging in, and paying for and downloading digitised files).
